SHARE's Homeless Services programs offer four units of transitional housing or rapid rehousing assistance which helps families and individuals experiencing homelessness a way to move into an apartment or home.

TO QUALIFY FOR HELP:
  • All homeless families/individuals need to follow the guidelines of the Coordinated Entry System which means all homeless Applicants must be assessed by the VI-SPDAT Assessment Tool. Homeless Services staff can administer the Assessment or if a homeless family/individual is at a local homeless shelter, then their staff can administer the Assessment. The Assessment Tool is used to determine which homeless persons are most vulnerable, and the Coordinated Entry System is designed to house the most vulnerable homeless first.
  • Once the Assessment is completed, the homeless family/individual is placed on the Housing Determination List. If selected, the homeless household will be contacted.
If selected, SHARE offers intensive case management to help your household obtain permanent housing as quickly as possible.

Depending on your household's needs, SHARE will refer you to the following services:

  • Food Assistance
  • Transportation
  • Medical/Dental/Vision
  • Psychological Counseling
  • Child Care
  • Drug/Alcohol Counseling
  • Life Skills/Budget Training
  • Legal
