MEDICAL INTERPRETATION

OPTHALMIC EYE CARE ASSISTANT

Ophthalmic assistants work with ophthalmologists assisting with patient care. Upon successful completion of the class and final exam, 80 hrs. of clinical experience will be spent at an affiliated ophthalmic/optometric office. HIPPA Privacy Training, OSHA Training Required and CPR Training Required. Acceptable Criminal Background

PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN

This program provides students with the knowledge and skills to prepare for a position as a patient care technician, which is an unlicensed, assistive person working under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Within the PCT program, students are prepared for success on the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam, which they are eligible to take after completing the PCT Course.

PHLEBOTOMY

Become a vital member of the healthcare team. You will be trained to collect blood samples which enable physicians to diagnose and treat illnesses. Class lecture, lab practice and 120 clinical hours. Successful completion of this course provides eligibility for the ASCP National Certification Exam. CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider and Preclinical Orientation for Continuing Education Required

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

Individuals who work for property management and leasing firms that are interested in managing rental properties and are not involved with sales. Class times vary.

REAL ESTATE

This course is designed to help the student learn the fundamental knowledge required to pass the South Carolina state real estate exam and to get started in real estate sales and/or property management.

SLEEP TECHNICIAN

Successful completion of the A-Step Introductory Course will identify the participant as a Sleep Technician trainee eligible to work in sleep labs. Prerequisite for these courses include: Approval from Program Coordinator (interview required), Prior certification in health care and minimum six months direct patient care experience, Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification, Proof of TB negative and immunizations for MMR and varicella.
